90 – Michel Gassier Costières de Nîmes Lou Coucardié Red 2014

This has good ripeness for a 2014, with warm blueberry, plum and blackberry preserve flavors. Light sage and tobacco accents give this the telltale cool, herbaceous character of the vintage. Smoky finish. Mourvèdre, Grenache and Syrah. Drink now through 2020. 835 cases made.— James Molesworth

90  – Michel Gassier Costières de Nîmes Lou Coucardié White 2015

Lovely lemon gelée, yellow apple skin, white peach and pear notes meld in this white, with light honeysuckle and white ginger accents through the finish. Shows range and energy, even with the extra bottle age. Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Viognier.— James Molesworth

89  – Michel Gassier Costières de Nîmes Nostre Païs Red 2015

Shows some mature hints, with tea, vanilla and dried herb notes emerging from the core of dried cherry and red currant fruit. Cedar details linger on the slightly dusty finish. Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Cinsault.— James Molesworth

90  – Michel Gassier Costières de Nîmes Nostre Païs White 2016

A streak of bitter almond gives this cut, while plump apple, pear and melon flavors form the core. Shows a light meringue echo on the finish, with good range and length. Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Clairette, Viognier and Bourboulenc.— James Molesworth
